My best friend

My best friend is Sultan Sahi. He is medium build and pale in complexion. He always wears dark colour T-shirts and denim trousers. He is so generous and friendly. He helps with my SBA even though he has not finished his own. He is very entertaining and cheerful in nature. He understands me a lot and respect my feeling in my all bad or happy conditions. We are good friends from the childhood and still continue.  We go to the school every day together and play sports daily in the nearby ground of our house. He is an exemplary best friend. I love him a lots

My Class Teacher/ Interesting personality 

My favorite teacher is Seela Kawasker. She is my class teacher too and takes attendance daily in the morning. She is tall and fair in complexion. She is a strict teacher however very funny and caring in nature. She is very disciplined and punctual. She does her all the works and projects related to the class at right time without getting late. I like her very much as she tries very easy ways to teach us good things. We enjoy her class. She teaches us English subject. She makes us laugh by telling lots of jokes. She teaches us to share things in class among our colleagues such as breakfast or other needed things.

My Favourite Hobby

Hobby is the way of using one’s leisure with pleasure. There are many fashionable hobbies like stamp collecting, coin collecting and making handicrafts but my hobby is gardening. I dig the land, sow the seeds and water the plants. It involves hard work. But it is not tiresome. I sit for hours in my garden, watching the branches nodding in the breeze. It is refreshing experience. Gardening is a great leisure time activity. I really enjoy it.

A famous person in our village / an interesting personality I ever met

My grandfather is one of the famous persons in our village. He is well-known for his long service at the Manippur Maha Vidyalaya. He was the first trained teacher in our village. People pay him great respect and come to him for aid and advice. He is about seventy years old.  If I am in bad mood or have any problem, he always helps me out and makes me happy. I always thank God for giving me such a caring and loving grandfather.

The Job I like most

I have also developed a career dream from an early age. I want to become a doctor and wish to serve the sick children. I have been inspired by maternal uncle Raju, who is famous doctor in our village to become a doctor.  I am very good at biology subject.  Why do I like a doctor career most? A doctor dedicates his life to the service of the patients. He or she relieves the sufferings and pain of mankind. He cures them from disease and illness. So, I always dream of becoming doctor one day.

Memorable day/Unforgettable day in my life/Sports Meet 

Memorable day in our life is not one and they are many. But it is difficult to recall all. So, I would like to recall a day which was most memorable. The day was our school annual Sports meet - 2014. The day started with the arrival of guests. There were many events 100 m ,400 m race, relays, and tug of war. Events were closed with prize giving ceremony. I won 3 gold medals and I become the champion of under fourteen age group. It was the most enjoyable experience and great memory of my school life.

A visit to Fair

A Sunday fair is held every Sunday at the public market. I visited the fair last week. I saw a stream of people on the road to the fair. There were hundreds of stalls for selling many goods such as vegetables, clothes fish and earthen pots. There were a number of sweetmeat stall and they tempted the buyers especially the children. I bought some sweetmeat and vegetables there. The life of villagers is usually dull and monotonous. Once a week fair breaks the monotony, and add joys to their life.    

A visit to the historical place/ A trip/Unforgettable Trip

I will never forget my first sight of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, a world heritage site in the Kandy City. I had heard about its beauty earlier. When my father took me on a visit to Dalada Maligawa , I was so happy. The temple is situated in the heart of Kandy City. In the evening just before the sunset, we entered into the front garden of the temple. There were many statues of ancient kings and dignitaries. At a little distance, the temple looked like a fairy palace. As we went nearer, we realized how large it is. The peak of excitement came is when we went closed to the room where the holy tooth relic of Lord Buddha is kept. The majestic of this building ever remains imprinted on our memory.

A Journey by Train

In the last holiday, I went to Galle with my parents. We went to the railway station in a bus. We bought the tickets and waited on the platform for the train. It arrived in time and left at 5.30 p.m. We were lucky to get good seats. On the way I thrilled to see the vast open paddy fields and trees on either side. The train arrived at Galle on the morning following day. We had a pleasure experience that day.

Water should not be wasted

Water is a valuable gift of nature to the mankind. Life on the Earth is not possible without water. On the one hand we use water for various purposes like drinking, cooking, cleaning, and washing. On the other hand, we waste water in many ways. Moreover, we pollute water sources by our activities. Overuse of insecticide and fertilizer in farming pollute the river, lakes and sea. We should control the ways of water pollution. And we should conserve the water for future. 

Good Habits  

Our habits are important because, they form our character. Character is just a bundle of habits. Respecting elders, serving the poor and needy people are widely recognized as a good habit in the society. Telling the truth, doing the things at the right time, obeying teachers and parents, and being kind to others are some of other examples of good manners. Going to a temple or offering daily is the habits which serve the needs of souls. Let’s build up positive character through good habits.

Kindness to animal

Animal deserve kindness because they are dump and helpless and they cannot complain about their difficulty. Cruelty to animal is due to unthoughtfulness. Animal serve us in many ways. They provide foods, protection and medicines. It is the children who inflict cruelty to animal in the name of sports. They don’t understand what they think as fun is the torture to the animals. Furthermore, the driver of bullock carts is found to lash the bullocks. These kinds of activities should be stopped. Be kind to animals.

Trees are our friend

Trees are our best friend. Trees are older than men. It is our duty to take care of our great friend for our own survival and survival of other creatures.  Just like a good friend, trees serve us in many ways. We get food, fruits, flowers seeds and medicine from trees. Trees protect us from unmerciful head of the sun. They supply us with woods to manufacture furniture. We shouldn’t cut trees unreasonably. Rather we should protect them through social forestry.
